Mrs. Susie M. Terns, 67, of Red Barn Road, Cobleskill, New York passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at her home with her family following a brief illness.
Born on September 17, 1944, she was the daughter of Robert E. Wells and Agnes Small Wells. She attended Canajoharie and Springfield Schools and was a lifelong resident of Schoharie County.
On September 24, 1982 in Cobleskill, NY, Susan married William Terns. Together they shared 35 wonderful, memorable years.
Mrs. Terns had worked for Comptone Sunglass Factory in Canajoharie, Richmondville Glove Factory, Eden Park Nursing Home in Cobleskill, The Holiday Inn in Cobleskill and was also Co-Owner of the Cobleskill Laundry Mat.
Susie enjoyed crafts and interior decorating. She loved traveling and laughter and was a loving mother, grandmother and wife.
She was predeceased by her brother, Donnie Wells.
Mrs. Terns is survived by her husband, William Terns of Cobleskill, NY; 3 daughters, Teresa and Ron Wetsell of Central Bridge, NY, Lory Miers and Mark Somers of Warnerville, NY, Dawn Parks and fiancé Jeff Handy of Sharon Hill, NY; brother, Roland Wells of Sharon Springs, NY; 6 grandchildren, Mike, Chris, Crystal, Nicole, Danny, Kyle; 6 great-grandchildren, Sierra, Deegan, Kierra, Isabella, JR, David Jr., as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 2:00pm at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery, Route 10 South, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Arrangements are entrusted to Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. Susie Terns may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast, NY, 1 Mustang Drive, Cohoes, NY 12047.
